Appointment Information
Consultations are made by appointment with the Doctor of your choice. Urgent cases are seen by the first available Doctor and Emergencies will be given first priority. Another appointment may need to be scheduled for you if there are multiple issues to discuss or if more than one family member is to be seen. Due to the unpredictable nature of general practice consultations, the doctors may occasionally run behind schedule. We apologise for this inconvenience and will endeavour to keep you informed of any delays. Appointments can be made by phone, in person or online via our website.
New patients are asked to arrive fifteen minutes early for the first appointment to give their details and fill out required forms.
You can easily make an appointment at any time by booking online using HotDoc. Click the Book Appointment button on our website and follow the prompts.
You can also book via phone by calling us during opening hours.
A standard consultation time is 15 minutes.
To ensure continuity of care, we will always try to book you in with your usual doctor unless you specifically request another doctor.
If you have an urgent medical issue during opening hours, please call our reception staff, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
In a medical emergency, please call 000 and ask for an ambulance.
If you have numerous or complex medical issues or require a procedure, a longer consultation may be required. In this instance, please call to discuss your situation with our reception staff. Higher fees apply for long consultations.
If an appointment is no longer required, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can allocate it to another patient. A fee may be charged for non-attendance.
You are able to cancel your appointment via our online booking system, however, please contact us via phone if you need assistance.
If the doctor is fully booked and you require an appointment you understand that you may be fitted in and only given an approximate time and will be seen when the doctor becomes available. PLEASE BE PATIENT. It is helpful if you wish to indicate to the receptionist the nature of your problem so you can be triaged appropriately, this information is treated in the strictest confidence.
Repeat scripts are generally only provided in a consultation or by telehealth appointment. A HotDoc quick consult is available for repeat scripts, this is at the treating Doctors discretion only, and a fee of $35 will apply.
Our practice regularly engages with local health services such as specialists, allied health and hospitals. If required your GP will provide sufficient information (by referral letter) to plan and facilitate optimal patient care.
Where blood tests or other investigations have been ordered, you will generally need to make a follow-up appointment to discuss the results. If the doctor is concerned about your results, the staff will contact you by SMS or phone to make a recall appointment. To ensure confidentiality, test results will not be given over the phone unless in a telehealth consultation with the GP.
Recall / Reminders are incorporated into our Medical Record systems so that you may at times receive requests to attend for regular check-ups or urgent investigation results. Please discuss with the Doctor or Practise Nurse if you have any queries or do not want any reminders.
Our goal is to provide quality, caring services in all our practices. Therefore if you have any concerns or suggestions please phone, write or email our clinic or speak directly with your doctor. Patient feedback forms are available in each of our clinics and we genuinely wish to hear from you. We believe that problems are best dealt with through the practice and we want to know if you are concerned about any aspect of your care and service. However, if you prefer to contact the Queensland Government Centre for handling complaints, you can contact The Health Rights Commission at GPO Box 3089, Brisbane Qld 4001 or on Phone 1800 077 308 (free call).
